Frustrated Customer Torches Ola Showroom, Damages Seven Scooters in Kalaburgi
Kalaburgi: In a shocking incident on Wednesday afternoon, a man set an Ola electric scooter showroom ablaze in Kalaburgi and seven scooters in the showroom were gutted.
The accused torched the showroom after his complaints about a recently purchased e-scooter were allegedly ignored. The man, identified as 26-year-old Mohammed Nadeem from Kalaburagi, was arrested by the police shortly after the incident.
According to the police, Nadeem carried petrol into the showroom, located within the Chowk police station limits. After a heated argument with the staff regarding unresolved issues with his e-scooter, Nadeem resorted to setting the seven scooters on fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
A police official explained, “Nadeem was frustrated that the Ola staff failed to address his complaints. Following an argument, when his concerns were still ignored, he took drastic action and burned the scooters.”
The investigation is ongoing as authorities assess the damage and look into Nadeem’s grievances. While it was initially suspected that an electrical short-circuit had caused the fire, investigation revealed the act of arson and the accused has been arrested on Wednesday.
